Geneva Watch Days 2026: small-wrist verdicts
Geneva Watch Days 2026 set a record with 71 brands and nearly 400 new releases, according to Hodinkee's photo report. Plenty of them were small. Small on the spec sheet is not the same as small on the wrist, so this is the first of our small-wrist verdicts: one standard box per watch, scored on lug-to-lug and thickness instead of diameter. Below are four compact launches from Geneva Watch Days week.
How to read a verdict
Each box scores the watch on a 165 mm (6.5") reference wrist with the same rule as our fit checker: lug-to-lug against the flat top of the wrist, one level worse at 13 mm or thicker. Incomplete means the brand hasn't published lug-to-lug and we won't guess it from diameter. Press Score on my wrist to rerun it with your own measurement.
The short version
| Model | Ø | Thick | L2L | Verdict at 165 mm |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Oris Big Crown Pointer Date 29 | 29 | 11.4 | 35.5 press | Low — no overhang; tall for its size |
| Bremont Terra Nova Jumping Hour 35 | 35 | 8.9 closed | 40.93 official | Low — short and thin |
| Tudor Northflag | 40 | 12.7 | 48.8 press | High — just past the line |
| A. Lange & Söhne 1815 Up/Down 37.5 | 37.5 | 8.7 | Unpublished | Incomplete — we won't guess the span |
Oris Big Crown Pointer Date 29
Oris launched a 29 mm Big Crown Pointer Date for Geneva Watch Days, with black or pink dials on leather or a steel bracelet. Oris publishes the 29.00 mm case, 14 mm lug width, 50 m water resistance and the automatic Calibre 534 (42 h). The 35.5 mm lug-to-lug and 11.4 mm thickness come from Hodinkee and Monochrome, not the Oris tech block, and the two agree.
For fit, this is the easiest watch in the round-up. For proportion, 11.4 mm on a 29 mm case stands up more than a 36 mm dress watch would, and a 14 mm strap reads delicate. Try it next to a 36 before deciding it's your size rather than just a size that fits.
Singapore: Oris's Singapore site lists S$3,100 on leather and S$3,400 on the bracelet (checked 7 September 2026), which puts it in soft Band 3. The Oris store finder lists authorised dealers including All Watches (Wisma Atria), Sincere Fine Watch (Suntec), Red Army Watches (ION Orchard) and Gnomon (Millenia Walk). The 29 mm is new, so call ahead and ask for reference 01 534 7804 before making the trip.
Bremont Terra Nova Jumping Hour 35
Bremont showed the 35 mm Terra Nova Jumping Hour at the Beau Rivage, and Hodinkee's photographer called it his favourite Bremont. Bremont's product pages give a 35 mm case, 40.93 mm case length and 18 mm lugs. Thickness depends on the dial: 8.90 mm for the closed-cover versions (30 m water resistance) and 10.30 mm for the open-dial burgundy and frosted pink (100 m). The movement is the BC634 automatic jumping hour with 56 hours of reserve.
Both versions score Low on a 6.5" wrist. Pick the closed cover if you want the thin dress watch; pick an open dial if you want central seconds and more water resistance for another 1.4 mm.
Singapore: Bremont lists Sincere Fine Watches at Marina Bay Sands and at Takashimaya on Orchard Road as authorised dealers. Neither publishes a Singapore price or stock for the 35 mm, so call before you go. UK list runs from £3,500 to £4,500 depending on version; our soft ~S$6–8k class is an FX estimate, not a Singapore price.
Tudor Northflag
Tudor brought back the Northflag (now one word) the morning before Geneva Watch Days, as reference 9140G1A0U with a 24-hour hand for a second time zone. Hodinkee's spec sheet gives 40 mm, 12.7 mm thick and 48.8 mm lug-to-lug, down from 40 × 13.3 × 50 mm on the 2015 North Flag. Inside is the MT5652-U, a METAS-certified GMT calibre with 65 hours of reserve, and the case is rated to 100 m.
The trim is real, and it moves the Northflag from clearly too long to borderline. The integrated bracelet leaves no strap to swap, so if the end links sit past your wrist bones there is no fix. Put it on before you commit.
Singapore: Hodinkee lists US$5,525 and says it is sold only through Tudor boutiques. That is roughly S$7.1k at current FX, which is an estimate and not a Singapore retail price. Ask a Tudor boutique for the local price and whether they have one to try.
A. Lange & Söhne 1815 Up/Down 37.5
Announced on 4 September, the same week as the fair, Lange's blue-dial limited editions bring the 1815 Up/Down down to 37.5 mm, between the first generation's 35.9 mm and the current 39 mm, and keep it 8.7 mm thick (Hodinkee). References are 244.028 in white gold and 244.037 in pink gold, 300 pieces each, with the hand-wound L051.2 (72 h) and 3 bar water resistance.
Neither Lange nor Hodinkee lists lug-to-lug, so the checker shows Incomplete rather than inventing a number from the diameter. If you get a tray, ask for tip-to-tip or measure it with our paper tape.
Singapore: Hodinkee quotes about EUR 45,000, sold through Lange boutiques. That is roughly S$66k at current FX, an estimate only. Confirm allocation and the Singapore price with A. Lange & Söhne directly.
Same fortnight, already on the site
Two more compact releases from around the fair have their own articles. Their verdicts, for comparison:
Seen at the fair, no verdict yet
These caught our eye in Hodinkee's photo report but don't have published lug-to-lug and thickness on file yet. We'll score them once they do:
- Alto ART 02 in 36 mm, which one Hodinkee editor picked as his watch of the show.
- Universal Genève Polerouter in 37 mm steel, announced earlier in the year and shown to visitors during the fair.
- Frederique Constant Classics Moneta, now with a hand-wound movement. The automatic Moneta 37 is in our September roundup.
Reality check
Verdicts are a heuristic on a reference wrist, not a try-on. Press lug-to-lug figures are labelled as such. FX estimates exclude Singapore GST and import costs; see our Singapore buying guide before ordering from overseas.
