Tissot PRX vs Tudor Black Bay for ~6.5" wrists (SG)

Same “compact steel daily” search — different jobs. Lug-to-lug first, diameter second. Last updated: 19 September 2026.

Around 6.5", two steel dailies keep colliding in search: the Tissot PRX 35 (Powermatic 80, with the quartz as the budget sibling) and the Tudor Black Bay 54 (37 mm). They are not the same watch at two prices. PRX is an integrated office/weekend sports-dress under ~S$1k. BB54 is a tool diver with a published short lug-to-lug and roughly six times the soft SGD. Do not frame this as “the poor man’s Black Bay” — geometry and use-case diverge. Soft SGD below is orientation only; verify at checkout or the AD.

Measure first if you need it: sizing, lug-to-lug, then the fit checker. No cloth tape? Print the 1:1 paper tape.

Official packshots credited above. The PRX file is the quartz T137.210.11.351.00 trail — we do not relabel it as a Powermatic waffle dial. Wrist photo below is illustrative geometry only, not a personal try-on of either SKU.

Balanced compact steel watch sitting on a human wrist without overhang
Illustrative on-wrist fit — not a PRX or Black Bay. Short effective length is why some 35–37 mm steels work at ~6.5"; integrated bracelets can still wear longer than the case.

Spec snapshot (~6.5" fair frame)

Primary pair: PRX 35 vs BB54. Secondary: BB58 (2026) — still fair, slightly longer. PRX 40 is a runner-up only (see fit notes). The 41 mm Black Bay family stays out of this table — no official lug-to-lug in the kits we checked.

Fit at ~6.5" — lug-to-lug first

Diameter is secondary. Bands: 6.5" size guide. Catalog view: watch index.

Model Fit call Why
PRX 35 Strong daily default under ~S$1k soft Short case; press effective ~44 mm (unofficial) usually sits well. The first bracelet link is fixed, so effective wear is longer than case length — integrated can still feel “present” on very flat wrists.
PRX 40 Runner-up / try-on only Same soft SGD as 35 PM80 on checked SKUs, so sizing up is not a price win. Hodinkee effective ~51 mm (unofficial) often overhangs ~6.5" because the first link is fixed. Skip as the default unless try-on clears that caveat.
Black Bay 54 Strong diver default Official 46 mm L2L + 37 mm — best published small-wrist Black Bay. Still a diver: thickness and bezel are real under cuffs. Deep notes: BB54 on a small wrist.
Black Bay 58 (2026) Good if 39 mm preferred Official 47.8 mm — only +1.8 mm vs the 54, but diameter reads larger. Try both at the AD.
41 mm Black Bay Out of this frame No official L2L in kits checked (third-party talk lands near ~50 mm). Not in the main compare table.

Bracelet vs strap

Practical tip

Ask for lug-to-tip of the exact tray reference — or measure it. Do not treat Tissot’s official “Length” field as lug-to-lug, and do not reverse-engineer PRX L2L from the 35 mm diameter.

Soft SGD and Singapore paths

Orientation bands only — not a quote, not a waitlist. Confirm the live ticket at checkout or the counter. Broader bands: by budget · under S$10k. Channel logistics: Buying in Singapore.

Where to try in Singapore

Humidity / daily: PRX integrated steel is sweat-OK as a dress-sports daily, not a dive tool. BB54/58 at 200 m plus rubber is the wet-weekend tool. Neither needs invented dive credentials beyond published water resistance.

Who should buy which

Don’t buy either expecting the other: a PRX will not feel like a Black Bay; a BB54 is not a S$1k integrated fashion sports watch. Style neighbours: by style (integrated vs dive). Already own a 54-class diver? Second watch after BB54.

Reality check

Specs, Singapore tickets, and stock change. Orientation only — not a quote, waitlist, or investment view. Confirm reference, dimensions, and price in person. Not affiliated with Tissot, Tudor, The Hour Glass, Cortina, or Sincere.

Bottom line

Same search intent, different jobs. PRX 35 is the strong sub-S$1k integrated daily when unofficial effective length (~44 mm, fixed first link) still sits inside the wrist. BB54 is the strong compact diver when you want official 46 mm lug-to-lug and 200 m of actual tool watch. Try the 58 beside it if you want 39 mm. Leave the PRX 40 and 41 mm Black Bay out of the default ~6.5" shortlist unless the counter proves otherwise.
